My name is Cathy Coleman and I am a Learning Specialist. Sooo, what do I do, I’d love to tell you!
I am a trainer, facilitator and coach who works with others to Identify their innate talent. Having spent most of my life in the learning environment I have had the good fortune to acquire a vast library of tools, certifications, information and items for application that can make a difference in your world, both personally and professionally. This is my passion and it fills me with purpose, catapulting me out of bed in the morning to get it done!
I have always been a lover and supporter of the Gallup StrengthsFinder program. I was oh so fortunate to be certified in 2005 as a Strengths Performance Coach through Fairmont Hotels and Resorts and I have to say it was one of those pivotal moments in my life. Understanding how and why I do something, validating those things I knew I was good at accepting my shortcomings but finding a work around... it truly changed my life! Ever since, I have been coaching strengths and using it personally.
The science of StrengthsFinder 2.0 centers around the existence of innate talent. We all have a unique set of talents that when supported and developed, can help us grow into our best selves (I like to think of them as our SuperPowers!). Unfortunately, most of us don’t know what they are or how to use them to reach our highest potential. The good news is that through a short assessment, yours can be identified (www.gallupstrengthsfinder.com), then, through support, development and coaching they grow into strengths.
Recently, I attended the Gallup Builder Profile 10 (BP10) training program in Omaha, Nebraska. This program looks at the 10 talents required to be a great builder. (Again this can be done through an assessment tool on the Gallup website). Knowing our BP10 Talents can be useful for those in a start up company, or members of leadership teams with in a company looking to expand or to become more profitable. This new builder 10 can be a great selection tool for your leadership team or could also be used to identify this talent in our youth so that we support them to build that next great business. You know what I am talking about, the oh so valuable one that creates jobs and supports communities to grow and prosper while building the economy for a better future.
I truly believe this “unique set of strengths” that you possess are your SUPERPOWERS. Ones you can pull out and use with intention whenever it’s needed. Or better yet, learn to live and work in your strengths on a daily basis, oh how lovely the world would be. We can create the best work environments, highest engagement, the best leaders, and assist in identifying the best direction for students, but most of all, the best relationships with friends and family.
As I go forward on this journey of Strengths awareness and entrepreneurship, I would love for you to come along. I will post items that help you understand the talent themes, provide you with resources and at times invite you to participate.
For all of my friends and family who have supported me thus far in this journey, “Thank You!” and I hope you will continue to like and share the posts as I put them out to you.
For any of you who would like to know more about StrengthsFinder and how it really can impact your life for the better, stay tuned, or reach out to me privately, I would be happy to answer your questions.
Let your Superpower journey begin!
